Trekking and walks in the Dolomites

The most beautiful trails and walks in Badia

Which are the most beautiful trails and walks in Alta Badia? Impossible to say, but here are some we recommend which, in our opinion, are worth doing if you are visiting the Dolomites and staying at the Hotel Gran Ander.

Trú cultural Badia - view on Pransarores

Cultural Trú in Badia

A very beautiful, cultural path, which passes through the villages of Pedraces and San Leonardo and allows you to discover the details of the history of the village and of the Val Badia, to admire the architecture and the characteristic “Viles” and learn to understand the deep bond between man and nature of the Ladin people. The path begins in Pedraces, and is equipped with numerous illustrative panels. It can easily be followed by families with young children and takes approx. 3 hours.

Trú di lec - lake Lech da Sompunt

Trú di lec

The “path of the lakes” is a short walk, particularly suitable for families, which links the Lech da Sompunt and Lech dla Lunch in Badia. The path starts from the Hotel Gran Ander and winds mainly through the larch and pine wood, with magnificent glimpses of San Leonardo and Sasso Croce. Follow the way-marks “Trú di Lec” to complete the loop in approx. 2 hours.

Armentara meadows

Santa Croce and the meadows of Armentara

The Sanctuary of “La Crusc” - Santa Croce and the rich nature of the meadows of Armentara can be reached via various trails. Use the Santa Croce ski lift or follow the loop “Roda de Armentara” and you can spend an unforgettable day amidst green meadows scattered with typical mountain chalets and numerous autochthonous species of orchids.

Peak Ciaval Sass dla Crusc in the Dolomites

Monte Cavallo on Sasso Croce

You just can’t miss conquering this peak while you’re staying at our hotel. You can start from the hotel or shorten the route via the ski lift. Then cut across the face overlooking the village of Badia via an equipped path for climbing. Once you have stopped to admire the breathtaking landscape from the top, descend towards Fanes.

Antersasc valley - Puez-Odle

The Valle di Antersasc

Start from the hotel in the direction of Juel or drive to Pescol and then enter this wild valley in the natural park of Puez-Odle. From Antersasc you can reach various peaks, such as Cima Dodici, Piza de Antersasc, or you can get to the Puez refuge hut and from there descend to Pedraces.

View from Col Plü Alt Gardenacia

Col Plü Alt

A wonderful peak with a panoramic view on the eastern slope of the natural park of Puez-Odle. Walk through the woods from the Hotel Gran Ander to the foot of Gardenaccia and then follow the path that rises steeply. From this point you will be accompanied by marvellous views as far as the cross of Col Plü Alt. You can also make the return journey via the Gardenaccia Refuge and the village of La Villa.
